About this artwork

Bridges, P20 is a work by Alphonse Mucha, the Czech painter, illustrator and graphic artist. It appears among the plates of a complete survey of his graphic output, alongside the colour plates in that collection. Mucha lived in Paris during the Art Nouveau period and became known for richly stylised, decorative posters, panels and advertisements, including his theatrical posters for Sarah Bernhardt. Those designs became some of the best-known images of their time. This piece belongs to that wider body of graphic work, which makes it a pleasing choice for anyone drawn to vintage poster art.

On your wall: Its vintage poster character suits a study, living room or hallway where a touch of period graphic style would add quiet interest.
