Terms & conditions
Last updated 2 October 2026
These terms apply to every order placed on amelia-art.com (the shop "Amelia"). Please read them before you order. By placing an order you accept them.
1. Who we are
The shop is operated by Geneva Webstudio, Rue de la Prairie 17, 1202 Genève, Switzerland. Email: shop@amelia-art.com. See the legal notice for full details.
2. Products
- Canvas prints are printed for you after you order, stretched over a wooden frame and, if you choose, set in a floater frame. Every print shows the complete artwork, never cropped. Where the shape of an artwork differs slightly from the canvas, a narrow band is filled with your chosen edge style; the product page states its size and shows the result in the preview.
- Original paintings are unique works. Each is sold once; the product page states its medium and size as painted.
- Colours on screen can differ slightly from the printed or painted surface. Product images and the room preview are illustrations of size and appearance.
- Many prints reproduce works in the public domain from museum collections and Wikimedia Commons. The original artist and the source of the image are named on each product page.
3. Prices and payment
- All prices are in Swiss francs (CHF). Geneva Webstudio is not registered for Swiss VAT, so no VAT is charged or shown.
- The delivery cost is shown in your bag and at checkout before you place your order. See shipping and delivery.
- You can pay by credit and debit cards, Shop Pay, PayPal and Google Pay. Payments are processed securely by Shopify and the payment provider you choose; we never see your full card details. Payment is due when you place your order.
4. How an order is made
- Choose a size, frame and edge style and add the item to your bag.
- Go to checkout, enter your contact and delivery details and choose a payment method.
- Check your order on the summary page. You can correct any detail or go back to your bag until you place the order.
- When you click the button to pay and place the order, you make a binding offer to buy.
- We send an order confirmation by email straight away. The contract is concluded with this confirmation.
If an item cannot be supplied, for example because an original painting has just been sold, we tell you without delay and refund any payment in full.
5. Delivery
We deliver to addresses in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the other countries listed in our shipping policy. Delivery times and costs are described in our shipping and delivery policy. The risk passes to you when the parcel is delivered to you.
6. Returns and cancellation
You can return items within 14 days of delivery and cancel an order before production, as set out in our returns and refunds policy.
7. Warranty
If an item is faulty or damaged in transit, please tell us within 14 days of delivery so we can replace it quickly. Your statutory warranty rights under the Swiss Code of Obligations (art. 197 ff.) apply in any case; for new goods bought as a consumer they last two years from delivery.
8. Liability
We are liable for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, and for personal injury. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, our liability is excluded.
9. Images and copyright
Buying a print or painting gives you ownership of the physical item. It does not transfer any copyright in our original designs, photos or texts, which you may not copy or reproduce for commercial use.
10. Personal data
We process your data as described in our privacy policy.
11. Law and place of jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). The place of jurisdiction is Genève, except where the law gives consumers the right to bring a claim at their place of residence.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The version published when you place your order applies to that order.
