Alphonse Mucha made Rêveur in 1897 as a lithograph print. It shows a woman with red hair wearing a crown of flowers, with flowers and sweeping arabesque lines around her. Mucha was a Czech painter, illustrator and graphic artist working in Paris during the Art Nouveau period, and he was widely known for his stylised, decorative posters. Those qualities, with their ornamental line and graceful figures, are the ones that made his imagery among the best-known of its time.
On your wall: The red hair, floral motifs and ornamental curves suit a living room, bedroom or study where a touch of vintage decorative character is wanted.
