About this artwork

This is a 1914 poster by Burkhard Mangold, made to promote Davos as a winter destination. Ice skaters are part of the scene, which fits the poster's purpose of showing visitors what a Swiss winter might hold. Mangold produced several posters for Davos, and this one belongs to that group. The name Wolfensberger is also linked with it, which points to its place in Swiss poster printing of the period. It is a small piece of early Swiss tourism advertising.
