This is a poster by Burkhard Mangold, dated 1911, whose title names the Verein der Plakatfreunde in Berlin and the month of October. Mangold is the designer, and the title tells us it announces something connected with that society. It also sits alongside material linked to the journal Das Plakat and to Wassermann AG. As a piece of early twentieth-century poster design, it suits those who enjoy the look of printed advertising from that era and the way lettering and image were brought together on a single sheet.
On your wall: It would sit well in a study, hallway or living room where vintage posters and graphic design are already part of the mix.
