This 1928 poster by Roger Broders advertises Vichy, and its title lists what the town offers: its springs, sport, tourism and theatre. Golf features among the subjects, so the scene leans towards leisure and the outdoors. It was printed as a colour lithograph by Lucien Serre & Cie in Paris, and it is a large sheet, measuring 108 by 78 centimetres. Broders was a French illustrator, and this piece belongs to the tradition of French tourism posters that invited people to travel and take their pleasure in the country.
On your wall: It would suit a hallway, study or living room where a retro travel poster adds period character, and it will particularly please anyone who enjoys golf.
