Roger Broders made this lithographic poster in 1927 to advertise the Grand Hôtel on the Mont Revard, which the lettering places at 1550 metres above sea level. It was produced for the railway company Paris to Lyon and the Mediterranean (PLM), as part of the tourism publicity of the time. Printed in colour by Maurice Dupuy in Paris, the poster measures about 108 by 79 centimetres. Broders is best known for travel posters of French resorts, from the Côte d'Azur to the Alps, and this one belongs to his Alpine work.
On your wall: Its Alpine subject and vintage poster lettering suit a hallway, study, living room or a holiday-themed corner where a touch of travel nostalgia is welcome.
