Henri Privat-Livemont made this poster in 1896 to advertise Delacre biscuits and chocolate, with French-language text. It belongs to the Belgian tradition of advertising posters at the time, and its lettering is typical of Art Nouveau. A woman with flowers in her hair is the central figure. Privat-Livemont was a Belgian Symbolist painter and Art Nouveau decorator, and the poster shows the decorative approach that went with that training.
On your wall: It suits a kitchen, dining room or café corner, and anywhere a touch of retro charm would be welcome, from a hallway to a cosy study.
