This is a colour woodblock print in the oban format, made by Utagawa Hiroshige around 1833/34. The title tells us the subject: Mishima in the morning mist, a scene in which the hour and the haze set the mood. Hiroshige was born Andō Tokutarō and is regarded as the last great master of the ukiyo-e tradition. Prints like this one were made by carving the image into wood and printing it in colour. The original is held by the Art Institute of Chicago.
On your wall: Its misty, landscape subject suits calm spaces such as a study, bedroom, hallway or living room, particularly where a restrained, contemplative look is wanted.

Utagawa Hiroshige, born Andō Tokutarō and also known as Andō Hiroshige, was a Japanese artist who worked in the ukiyo-e tradition. He is regarded as the last great master of that tradition, and his name remains closely tied to the form. His prints are a fine way to bring that heritage into a home.
