Temple Gardens was made by Paul Klee in 1920 and sits within abstract art. Its subject is a garden, though it is treated through abstraction rather than literal description, so what you find in it depends on how you look. Klee, born in Switzerland and working as a German artist, drew on expressionism, cubism and surrealism to develop a very individual approach. The work is now held in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
On your wall: Its abstract take on a garden suits living rooms, studies and calm hallways where a modern, thoughtful piece can reward a second look.

Paul Klee was a Swiss-born German artist whose style was entirely his own. Over his career he drew on several movements, including expressionism, cubism and surrealism, and blended these influences into work that remains unmistakably his. For a Swiss customer, there is something pleasing in seeing a compatriot's imagination so distinctively at play.
