Roger Broders made this poster in 1929 to promote Thonon-les-Bains, on Lake Geneva. Its title points to what the town offered visitors: its waters, the lake and the mountains. It was produced for the Paris–Lyon–Méditerranée railway company, which commissioned tourism advertising of this kind. It was printed in colour as a lithograph by Lucien Serre & Cie and measures 100 x 62 cm. Broders was a French illustrator best known for travel posters promoting destinations across France, and this one belongs to that body of work.
On your wall: A good fit for a hallway, study or living room, especially where you enjoy vintage travel posters and scenes of lakes and mountains.
