Hiroshi Yoshida's Kameido Bridge is a woodblock print in colours, centred on a bridge in a setting linked with the Kameido Tenjin shrine and with wisteria. The print carries the artist's pencil signature and inscription, along with his seal and stamp, and measures roughly 37 by 25 centimetres. Yoshida is regarded as one of the leading artists of the shin-hanga style, and is especially known for his landscape prints made in the traditional Japanese woodblock manner.
On your wall: It would sit well in a calm living room, study or hallway, where a Japanese landscape with a bridge and flowering wisteria can be enjoyed at close range.

Hiroshi Yoshida was a Japanese painter and woodblock printmaker of the 20th century. He is counted, alongside Hasui Kawase, among the finest artists of the shin-hanga style, and is admired above all for his landscapes. He travelled widely, and became known for presenting subjects such as the Taj Mahal, the Swiss Alps and the Grand Canyon in traditional Japanese woodblock form.
