This is a poster for Elida toilet soap, made in 1921 by Julius Klinger. Klinger was an Austrian graphic artist who worked as an illustrator, draftsman and typographer, and he is known for his commercial work. Here his skills are put to the service of advertising, where image and lettering have to work together to catch the eye of a passer-by. It is also a good example of the Austrian advertising posters of its period, and of the way soaps and perfumes were promoted to the public in the early 1920s.
On your wall: It suits a bathroom, a dressing room or a hallway, and it works well in any home with a taste for vintage advertising and period graphic design.
