About this artwork

Bar Riche is a poster from 1911 by Hans Rudi Erdt, a German graphic designer and lithographer. Erdt worked within the Sachplakat movement, which Lucian Bernhard created, and he is counted among the most important German poster artists of the years between 1906 and 1918. His work at the printing company Hollerbaum und Schmidt, alongside several of his contemporaries, helped shape that reputation. He was also recognised for the inventive way he handled lettering in his posters. The title points to a bar, which makes this a good example of the commercial poster art for which he was known.

On your wall: It suits a home bar, a kitchen, a dining room or a study, anywhere that a touch of vintage poster style would feel at home.
