This is Eugène Grasset's Histoire des Quatre Fils Aymon, dated 1883. The title points to the old tale of the four sons of Aymon, described as very noble and valiant knights, and the work is also linked to Bayard, the steed from that story. Grasset was a Swiss decorative artist who worked in Paris during the Belle Époque, and he is regarded as a pioneer of Art Nouveau design. Here he turns his attention to a chivalric subject, which gives the work a storybook character that suits a retro poster lover's collection.
On your wall: Its chivalric subject suits a study, library, hallway or living room where a touch of storybook history and vintage character is welcome.
