Painted in 1889, this landscape shows a field of green wheat with a cypress. Van Gogh worked in oil on canvas, and the picture belongs to the body of landscapes for which he is known, with bold colour and expressive brushwork. Today the original hangs in the National Gallery Prague, at the Trade Fair Palace in the Holešovice district, where it goes by the name Zelené obilí.
On your wall: Its fresh greens and rural subject suit living rooms, studies and hallways, and bring a calm, outdoor feeling to spaces that could use a touch of nature.

Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter, regarded as one of the most influential figures in Western art. In little over a decade he produced around 2,100 works, including about 860 oil paintings, most of them in his final two years. He is known for landscapes, still lifes and portraits, painted in bold colour with expressive, energetic brushwork.
