About this artwork

Made in 1922 by El Lissitzky, About Two Squares 07 comes from an artist who worked across painting, illustration, design, printmaking, photography and architecture. He was a significant figure of the avant-garde and helped develop suprematism alongside his mentor, Kazimir Malevich. The title points to squares as the subject, and the work rewards a slow, attentive look at how simple geometric forms can carry a composition.

On your wall: Its spare, geometric character suits modern and minimalist interiors, such as a studio, study, hallway or calm living room.
