The Ten Largest, No. 6 was made by Hilma af Klint in 1907 using oil paint and tempera on paper. It is held by the Hilma af Klint Foundation. Af Klint was a Swedish artist and mystic, and her paintings are counted among the first major abstract works in Western art. Some of her work came before the first purely abstract compositions by Kandinsky, Malevich and Mondrian. She belonged to "The Five", a circle of women inspired by Theosophy, and her paintings were often a way of giving visual form to complex spiritual ideas.
